Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon considered for Trump’s Cabinet
It appears the Vince and Linda McMahon’s longstanding friendship with Donald Trump will finally pay dividends in the form of a potential position in the president-elect’s cabinet.
According to NBC Connecticut, former WWE CEO Linda McMahon is being considered by Trump’s transition team to fill the position of secretary of commerce. McMahon hosted multiple events for Gov. Chris Christie during the GOP presidential primary but showed her support for Trump when he eventually clinched the Republican nomination.
McMahon ran for office on two separate occasions in the last six years in an attempt to win a seat in the Senate. She lost her first campaign to Sen. Richard Blumenthal in 2010, and her second two years later against Sen. Chris Murphy. Over the course of her two failed bids, McMahon spent over $100 million of her personal finances to fund her campaigns.
Trump’s relationship to the McMahons dates back decades. The president-elect is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame and regularly appeared on WWE programming. His most infamous appearances include shaving Vince McMahon’s head on live television during Wrestlemania 23.
